To created contours on the terrain surface you need to create contours then update the terrain surface with the contours you created.
Click the Window Appearance button (Blue Diamond
- On the General tab select Frame, under the show box in the upper left corner of the panel.
- On the Frame tab, you have the option to have contours as one color (mono color) or height color (color based on the elevation)
- Next on the Frame tab you select the Set heights & Colors to set the intervals you want the contours to be on
- hit apply
Now you have created contours so you need to turn the terrain surface back on with contours.
- On the General tab select Rendering, under the show box in the upper left corner of the panel
- On the Rendering tab, you need to check the show contour box in the upper right-hand corner
- hit apply
Now you should have a surface with contours included.
