• Excavation: Basics

  This module introduces the 3D-Dig Excavation method.

  • Get started with some excavation basics.
  • See the concepts of inner and outer excavation polygons.
  • Use the excavation templates and the progressive logging of excavated material.
  • Learn how to apply the restore points, while working with excavations.
• Advanced Excavation

  In this module, you will learn about free mode excavations in 3D-Dig, including limit, selective, and multiple excavations.

  • Excavate to a surface and use excavation limit surfaces.
  • See how to achieve selective excavation for waste and non-waste materials.
  • Work with multiple excavation templates and switch between excavation templates.
  • Learn how to include surface features in the shapes of your inner excavation polygons.
• Box Cut Development

  In this module, an excavation of a box cut will be performed, accompanied by a detailed step-by-step explanation.

  • Execute the initial setup for an excavation of the box-cut for a pit.
  • Make preparations for the creation of a ramp, and make acquaintance with the concept of saving to an inner surface.
  • Create a corridor for the previously-planned ramp.
  • Execute excavation of the ramp.
  • Save the box cut model as an inner surface, and see the procedure of cropping down the surface.
  • Learn how to use the current plane function.
• Excavation: Exam

  The final module is an exam where you can test your knowledge of the concepts introduced in this course. Pass this exam with a 70% or better to receive your completion certificate.
